Work for DSP Supervision 2

Please submit your work as a PDF by emailing it to mti20 [at] cam [dot] ac [dot] uk at least 24 hours before your supervision. Please include any code samples and their output in the PDF, and also send them as a separate file so that I can run them.

  1. Explain why zero padding increases the frequency granularity of the DFT output but does not improve our ability to resolve frequencies. When is zero padding useful?
  2. Research and explain the operation of a Tayloe detector.
  3. Examples sheet exercises 10--13, and 16.
  4. Exam Question -- 2013 Paper 9 Question 5

You don't need to send me the answers in advance to the examination questions (i.e. items 4 and 5 in the list above), although I'd be delighted to look at them if you do.
